01 DAY - Negombo

Morning:

  • Arrive in Katunayake (Bandaranaike International Airport).
  • Travel to Negombo (about 30 mints drive).

Afternoon:

  • Take a boat tour in Muthurajawela Wetlands to observe the mangroves and birdlife
  • Explore the Negombo Fish Market and see the local fishing community in action.

Evening:

  • Check in to the hotel and spend a relaxing evening by the beach.
  • Enjoy a laid-back dinner along the beach or in a local seafood restaurant.

Overnight: Stay in Negombo.

Morning:

  • Transfer to Kandy (approx. 3 hours by car), a cultural city surrounded by hills.

Afternoon:

  • Upon arrival, explore Udawatta Kele Sanctuary, a forest reserve that’s a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers. You may spot various species like the Ceylon shama, black-headed oriole, and many others.

Evening :

  • Walk around kandy Lake.

Morning:

  • After breakfast, depart for Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England” for its colonial charm and cool climate (approx. 2.5 hours).
  • On the way, stop at a tea plantation to see how Sri Lanka’s famous tea is grown and processed. Take a tour of the factory and taste some fresh Ceylon tea.
  • Stop by to see beautiful Ramboda water fall during the scenic drive through the hill country.

Afternoon:

  • Single tree hills – to experience a walk around a tea plantation with a great panoramic view of the city.

Overnight: Stay in Nuwara Eliya..

Early Morning:

  • Visit Horton Plains National Park for the World’s End and Baker’s Falls hike. The trek will offer stunning views over the plains and the dramatic cliff of World’s End.
    • Wildlife: Look out for endemic species like the Sri Lankan sambar deer and the purple-faced langur.

Afternoon :

  • In the afternoon, take the train to Transfer to Ella – known as one of the most scenic routes in the world – passing through lush tea plantations, waterfalls, and misty mountains

  • Stay in Ella

Morning:

  • After breakfast explore Ella including Ella rock hike, little adams speak, and nine arch bridge.

  • Relaxing evening at Ella

Overnight

  • Stay in Ella.

Morning:

  • After breakfast, travel to Udawalawa.
  • Visit Udawalawa Elephant transit home.

Overnight:

  • Camping at udawalawa – Experience nature in a camping site.

Morning:

  • After breakfast, travel to Sinharaja.
  • Enjoy the drive – You’ll encounter stretches where the road narrows through jungle-covered slopes, with views of offering dramatic backdrops. Along the way, you might
    spot monkeys crossing the road, colorful birds like hornbills or junglefowl, and butterflies
    drifting through the air. Passing through rural villages, you’ll get glimpses of daily Sri Lankan life—farmers in the fields, roadside stalls selling fruits, and schoolchildren waving as they walk home

Overnight:

  • Stay in a hotel or eco-lodge near Sinharaja.

Morning:

  • Full day of exploring the Sinharaja Rainforest. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a biodiversity hotspot, home to many endemic species of plants, birds, insects, and mammals.
    • Trekking : Explore the trails with a guide to spot wildlife such as the red-faced malkoha, Sri Lankan blue magpie, and various butterflies.

Afternoon:

  • Continue exploring the forest reserve, which is best experienced through guided treks. If you’re lucky, you might spot elusive creatures like the Sri Lankan leopard.

Overnight

  • Stay in a hotel or eco-lodge near Sinharaja.
